It is a rare moment of joy and gratefulness in which I am writing those lines:

The European Parliamant has rejected the SWIFT-treaty with the United States in a surprisingly unambiguous vote (378 to 196 votes).

To be honest I never expected the members of parliament to face the massive preasure build by the US and several european governments. Please accept my sincere appologies - and my gratitude. Thanks!

This IS a great and inspiring day for civil rights, privacy and democracy in Europe. It is a day that tells us: GO ON! Whatever the opposition, however strong the preasure: GO ON. We can defend what's ours, we can defend our rights!

I'm happy.
